The HotBlack: Analog Smartwatch Shows Real-Time Soccer Scores (Photos)

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could get up to date World Cup scores just by checking your watch? Designer Richard Hoptroff seems to think so, as he has recently unveiled a prototype for the HotBlack, a smartwatch that delivers soccer scores in real time.

Most interestingly, the HotBlack football watch won’t be some dorky digital mess, but a sleek analog job, with even the sports scores being received via Bluetooth but delivered by old-fashioned dials. It will sync up with the teams and match of your choosing with a smartphone app, then all you have to do to keep an eye on the score is to check the time.

Right now, the HotBlack is in the proto-Kickstarter phase, and isn’t even raising funds yet. But you can check it out all the same here, for a full rundown on how the watch will work if it ever goes into production.

The campaign won’t actually start until later this month, so you won’t be able to get one in time for this year’s World Cup, but maybe next year. For now, you can get a look at the HotBlack in the gallery up top.
