One of the great questions facing our culture in 2016 is whether or not weed is still funny. It’s legal in a lot of places and it’s the general feeling that it will be totally decriminalized in the near future, so its place in the comedy lexicon is still in a transitional phase (for an example of what I mean, try watching an old WC Fields or Thin Man movie and see if those jokes about alcoholism seem quite as funny today as they did back then). But that hasn’t stopped HBO from taking a chance on a web series entitled High Maintenance (get it?), the HBO version of which now has a trailer online.
High Maintenance is about a “city of strangers with one connection,” which is, you guessed it, weed. More precisely, they all get their weed from the same dealer, who appears to be the main character of the show, at least according to the trailer. Speaking of which, you can watch that trailer below:
As for the show itself, it’s slated to make its HBO debut on Friday, September 16th, at 11 PM ET. In the meantime, you can take a look at the show’s official HBO site right here.
