If I had written this article a month ago, it would have been from the point of view of a 30-year-old man who had not seen the movie Heathers, despite its reputation as an essential classic of 1980s American cinema. But I happened to watch the film over holiday break, which makes me all the more puzzled as to how they’ve managed to adapt the film into an ongoing television series.
There’s a trailer for the Heathers TV show, which is coming to the Paramount Network in a couple months, and while it promises the film’s dark sense of humor and major setpieces are intact, it doesn’t provide any clues as to how the film’s plot will be expanded to TV series length – especially if it gets picked up for a second season. Check it out for yourself below:
Recasting roles originally played by Winona Ryder and Christian Slater isn’t an easy job, but you can see how the Heathers series compares to the movie on March 7th, when the show premieres on the Paramount Network.
