After lighting up wands at the British Museum an exhibition all about the Harry Potter franchise and its connection to the folkloric history of magic is coming to the New York Historical Society. It’s called Harry Potter: A History of Magic, and it’s joined by a companion book entitled Harry Potter: A Journey Through a History of Magic (good luck keeping those titles straight, friends).
Harry Potter: A History of Magic comes as the first book in the series – Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone – celebrates its 20th anniversary, believe it or not. The exhibit will give viewers an overview of those 20 years in the franchise’s history, as well as some real-life witchcraft and magic history that was incorporated into it.
The Harry Potter: A History of Magic exhibit won’t be open until October 5th, but tickets go on sale on Valentine’s Day for members of the New York Historical Society, while muggles will reportedly be able to buy tickets in April.
