Microsoft began its annual E3 2012 press conference, which takes place in Los Angeles, with a live action trailer of Halo 4. The popular action game is the largest and most expensive game Microsoft has to offer for owners of the Xbox 360.
The live action trailer began with a speech commissioning the UNSC Infinity, a capital spaceship in the setting of the science fiction game. The spaceship finds itself trapped in a wormhole and pulled into a distant planet upon which Master Chief, the game’s main character, is stranded.
In the singleplayer campaign, Master Chief encounters his old enemies like the Covenant as new synthetic enemies that appear to bear the makings of the Forerunners, another major alien race in the story.
Master Chief must make their way to the crashed UNSC Infinity before anyone else arrives, and he is hailed by distress calls from the men and women aboard the ship that the hull has been breached by alien invaders.
While much of the action focused on Halo 4’s singleplayer campaign, most players who pick up the game will do so for its intense multiplayer mode, which is making a huge return this time around with the inclusion of a cooperative campaign for multiple players as well as a competitive War Games mode that allows players to battle each other in head to head combat.
Developed by 343 Industries, Halo 4 will be released later this year for the Xbox 360.
