OK, this is just getting out of hand. Marvel Studios has successfully turned post-credits sequences into their own cottage industry, bringing audiences into a suspended state of anticipation of the upcoming movies that supersedes the entertainment value of whatever they just got done watching. Now, James Gunn, writer/director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 recently tweeted that the film will have five – count ’em, five – post-credits scenes:
Well, five, actually. 😊

It seems to me that it might be a bit of a misnomer to call these gags “post-credits scenes,” since four of them reportedly happen as the credits are happening, while only one is saved for that actual post-credits sweet spot. Personally, I think Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, when it inevitably arrives, should be composed exclusively of post-credits sequences – it’s really the only logical step forward.
Anyway, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 comes out on May 5th, and in the meantime you can see all the promotional content you can stand at Marvel’s official site here.
