The world is always changing, and those of us who are around while it does sometimes don’t notice, since it’s happening so gradually. A cool new feature from Google using its Google Earth satellite imaging technology can show you just how much the world around you has changed, thanks to satellite images dating back to 1984. It’s called Google Timelapse.
Google Timelapse isn’t quite the same as time-travel, and unfortunately there’s no Google Street View equivalent (at least not yet), but it’s still a fun new way to look at how different things have gotten in the last 32 years. Of course, some places have changed more than others, which is why a Google Timelapse view of Dubai, UAE probably makes one of the best demonstrations for how the process works:
However, you can make a Google Timelapse for anywhere on the planet, including your own backyard, at the service’s official site right here.
