Remember in Ex Machina when reference is made to the main guy’s “pornography profile” being used to create an attractive woman robot for him to interact with? Creepy stuff, but it represents real anxieties people feel about the information Google and other internet companies are collecting on them. Google is striking a blow against that anxiety with Google My Activity.
Google My Activity is a new service that shows every Google search you’ve made and site you’ve visited under your Google account, and once you’re done cringing you can actually delete entries from the list so that they’re no longer part of Google’s dossier on your online activity.
It’s a fun way to take a trip through the memory lane of Google’s information superhighway, but it’s also a good way to make sure there’s nothing you don’t want in Google’s hands out there under your name. To take a look, just sign into your Google account and check out Google My Activity right here.
