Lots of car companies release concept cars, especially for events like the Geneva Motor Show going on right now. But Goodyear has come up with a pretty cool concept tire that’s specifically designed for a future populated by self-driving cars: The Goodyear Eagle-360.
The Goodyear Eagle-360 is spherical rather than circular, for a much wider range of movement compatible with the automobile of the future’s emulation of natural life. It’s also loaded with sensors that can tell the car about conditions in the atmosphere and on the road, for optimum tire pressure and other adjustable variables.
Of course, we still have a way to go before the Goodyear Eagle-360 can be used, but it’s pretty exciting to see the future of automotive travel shaping up before our eyes (and if you love to drive, don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll be able to if and when you feel like it). For now, you can see the Eagle-360 in the video below, and for more info check out Goodyear’s press release on the concept tire right here.
