Jordan Peele of the already iconic sketch show Key & Peele has a new upcoming project, and it’s a far cry from the comedy he is known for. But it’s not that far removed from the satire he specializes in, since Get Out appears to be a horror movie take on racial tension and conformity that has as much to say about the real world as any great comedy sketch (or horror movie, for that matter).
Get Out is about a young black man who goes to meet his white girlfriend’s parents. Meeting your girlfriend’s parents is horrifying enough under the best of circumstances, but when they may or may not be part of a massive conspiracy to brainwash black men into being docile automatons, it’s even more stressful! Sorry, I slipped into studio copywriting voice there, but the movie really does look pretty good.
