Older fans of Nintendo’s Mario franchise might remember the existence of Mario Paint, even if they never actually owned a copy. One of the game’s most interesting features was its “Composer” mode, which let players compose their own music using the game’s 8-bit sound system.
And so, it was only a matter of time before somebody did a Mario Paint cover of “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk. That somebody happens to be YouTube user jeonghoon95, who put the song up recently. It’s a surprisingly rich and textured sound for a video game composition, and an interesting twist on a great song.
You can check it out in the video below. But be forewarned that it will either make you want to get lucky, or play Super Mario.
