The holiday season is now upon us, and that means the accompanying onslaught of yuletide beverages and food products from our corporate masters. It’s still kind of hard to believe, though, that Starbucks would turn to the most infamously least-loved holiday dessert in existence for the inspiration of their latest concoction, but that’s exactly what they appear to have done with their Fruitcake Frappuccino.
The Fruitcake Frappuccino is essentially a Hazelnut Crème Frappuccino with dried fruit, cinnamon, whipped cream, caramel, and just a bit of matcha, for a final result that may or may not taste like a fruitcake—someone would have to have tried fruitcake before to know what it actually tastes like, so the world may never know.
As befitting its obvious novelty status, the Starbucks Fruitcake Frappuccino is reportedly only available for the next week, so you better get yours while you can. Barring a McRib-like cultural outcry, you may not see it until next December, just like a real fruitcake.
