“Formation”: Beyoncé’s New Orleans Tribute (Video)

by Joseph

Beyoncé tends to approach fame in the same manner as Stanley Kubrick or D’Angelo: We don’t hear much for years, then all of a sudden she’s everywhere. Last night she performed in the Super Bowl halftime show, and around the same time she was releasing a single/video/short film: “Formation,” a previously Tidal-exclusive track that has now been released to the non-subscribing masses.

“Formation” depicts Beyoncé in a variety of choreographed scenarios, most strikingly standing atop a mostly-submerged police car. As for the song itself, I’ll spare you the lyrical analysis, although I will say that it might be a good idea for you to start carrying hot sauce around in your bag if you want to stay ahead of the zeitgeist.

Anyway, you can watch the video for “Formation” below. And if you think you can handle it, more Beyoncé related stuff can be found at her official site right here.
