The people at Forbes magazine have done what they do best and assembled a list of the 20 wealthiest hip-hop artists for the 2013 fiscal year. The list starts with Diddy, of all people, who earned $50 million in 2013, mostly due to a successful endorsement deal with Cîroc Vodka.
The list goes on to include luminaries like Jay Z, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, and many more. In the wealth-obsessed world of mainstream hip-hop, the list is sure to provoke controversy—even with people on the list itself. For example, take this year’s top earner, Diddy, who expressed his disapproval of lists from previous years by stating the following:
“You started learning how to count right, I see. Thank God!”
