“Burger flipping” is sometimes used as an offensive shorthand for menial tasks that require no skills or brainpower, but think about it—it’s actually a pretty high-level skill, which is why it’s taken so long for a robot that can flip burgers to be developed. And now, Flippy, a robot that flips burgers, has been born.
Flippy is the product of Miso Robotics, which purports that the robot can serve as an affordable kitchen upgrade without having to modify the entire work space. Miso’s vision for Flippy and their other projects is to “Develop technology that assists and empowers chefs to make food consistently and perfectly, at prices everyone can afford.”
You can see Flippy in action in the video below. And for more information on the incredible burger-flipping robot as well as the rest of his metal kitchen friends (trademark pending), head over to the official Miso Robotics site right here.
