As has been stated on this site many times before, the era of virtual reality has already begun, and it’s only a matter of time before it becomes second nature like smartphones and tablets have. Not everyone will be able to afford fancy VR headsets and other similar pieces of equipment, but Figment VR comes close to making virtual reality experiences relatively affordable (provided the user already has a working iPhone).
Figment VR is an iPhone case that folds out into a pair of VR goggles that can display VR and augmented reality overlays on your iPhone (an Android version is also reportedly on the way as well). And it “activates” with a cool snap-into-place motion that’s almost as cool as any VR experience itself.
You can see what I mean by checking out the Figment VR on Kickstarter right here, where pre-orders start at $49, $30 less than the predicted MSRP.
