Facebook, not content with their mere 95% of universe ownership, is now going after the final social media frontier: Sports. They’re doing so with the launch of Facebook Sports Stadium, a new feature that will allow Facebook users to get real-time updates and talk sports with friends and other fans on the site all across the world.
Basically, Facebook Sports Stadium will act as a real-time destination for fans during any and all high-profile sporting events, providing users with access to all internet content related to the event in real time. Apparently, Facebook wasn’t overwhelming enough during big deal games and matches already.
Facebook Sports Stadium has already been rolled out for football fans (and Facebook iOS users) in time for the NFL conference championships, but it’s expected to be joined by variants for baseball, soccer, and many other sports (and presumably other platforms) in the near future.
