Cheeseburgers, in order to be defined as such, are generally thought to require a basic circular shape as dictated by that of the agreed-upon hamburger bun. But Burger King is flexing some of its royal might over its subjects with the new Extra Long Buttery Cheeseburger.
According to the BK site, the Extra Long Buttery Cheeseburger is “two beef patties topped with freshly cut onions, crisp iceberg lettuce, ketchup, melted American cheese, a buttery garlic flavored sauce and a creamy mayonnaise spread, all served on a warm toasted hoagie bun.” If you look at it and squint, it almost looks like a sub sandwich (or hoagie), which is sure to raise eyebrows among burger purists everywhere.
To try the Extra Long Buttery Cheeseburger, you’ll have to head to your local Burger King, but you can get a little more nutritional info on the sandwich/burger at the aforementioned BK site right here. So long!
