If you have any old clothes or sneakers you don’t know what to do with, you might consider taking them with you to Levi’s, where you can get a 20% discount for recycling old clothes as part of a huge initiative by the company to encourage consumer recycling.
It’s pretty simple, but here’s how it works – you bring your old clothes to Levi’s, and as long as they’re both clean and dry, you get a 20% discount on your in-store purchase. Then the actual recycling is left to the denim brand itself along with I:Collect, which will resell the wearable items while the rest will be shredded and used to make new clothing or to fill various items like cushions, car seats, pillows, and the like.
You can read more about Levi’s very cool recycling-for-discounts program over at Quartz right here. And if your nearest Levi’s is participating in the program, it might be time for a little belated spring cleaning.
