One of the least recognized aspects of the Super Bowl commercial frenzy is that one ad that comes on after the game ends. It’s usually a regular TV commercial but this year the people at Esurance had a clever idea—grab the spot, and turn the $1.5 million savings into a huge giveaway promotion.
So they did just that with an ad starring Esurance spokesman John Krasinski and a big pile of money. In the 30-second spot, Krasinksi explains the rules of the promotion, which comes to an end on Tuesday, February 4th.
Basically, the giveaway is a simple sweepstakes that works through Twitter. All you have to do to enter is tweet the hashtag “#EsuranceSave30” (“30” for the 30% they saved on the Super Bowl ad, and the 30% they claim to save customers on insurance) and you’re done. Good luck, although chances are the money will go to some tech wizard who sets up a bot to make 10 #EsuranceSave30 tweets every minute or something.
