Fans of Eminem (and even non-fans of Eminem) probably know that the guy wasn’t exactly going all out for Mother’s Day throughout his life. But he’s apparently ready to make amends, as the song “Headlights” off of The Marshall Mathers LP 2 demonstrates. The song features Eminem apologizing to his mom about, among other things, his song “Cleaning Out My Closet.”
Appropriately enough, the video for “Headlights” premiered on Mother’s Day. It’s basically a look back at Eminem’s famously tumultuous relationship with his mom, Debbie Mathers. And if Eminem is going to start doling out apology tracks, we’ll probably be seeing a lot more in the years to come.
You can see the official music video for “Headlights,” directed by none other than Spike Lee, for yourself below. And if you forgot to call your own mother for Mother’s Day yesterday, don’t feel too guilty, since at least you’re not Eminem.
