If you think about it, it’s kind of amazing that human beings have been so enamored with hot beverages for so long, given how much of a pain they can actually be to drink. They either scald your tongue and mouth, or they sink into tepidness with alarming quickness, so you have like a 5-minute window of being able to drink it at a pleasurable temperature. No more, however, thanks to Ember.
Ember is a Bluetooth-compatible smart mug that lets you regulate the temperature of whatever you put inside via smartphone. Or, you just dial the temperature setting on the bottom to whatever your preferred drink temperature is, and the mug will keep it as close to that setting as possible for up to two hours.
You can pre-order an Ember smart mug at the product’s IndieGoGo listing here, starting at $109 and going up from there. That’s a lot, but once you start being able to taste your food again after guzzling coffee or hot chocolate, it might just be worth it.
