Dyson has been getting some bad press lately thanks to the revelation that their line of high-tech hand driers in bathrooms are like bacterial dirty bombs, spraying all kinds of nasty microbes and germs all over the place whenever they’re used. Luckily they still have a few products that aren’t being used as unintentional biological weapons, like the new Dyson Supersonic.

The Dyson Supersonic is a hairdryer, but as is typical for the brand it’s not a typical hairdryer. It’s reportedly the end result of four years and $70 million worth of research and development at Dyson HQ, and it’s clear even at a brief glance that it’s unlike any other hairdryer ever made.

At $400, it’s also pretty pricey by hairdryer standards, but if the Dyson Supersonic does for hair what their hand-dryers have done for washing your hands (without the bacterial blowback), it might be worth every penny for regular hairdryer users. You can buy yours, and get more information on what it can do, at the Dyson site here.
