Dyson has come out with the 360 Eye, an automated robot vacuum cleaner (not, alas, a vacuum cleaner for cleaning robots, although that will probably come sometime in the future) that the company says is the first “truly intelligent” vacuum cleaner out there.
The intelligence of the Dyson 360 Eye allows it to map out the entirety of its surroundings and formulate the most efficient cleaning route through it. That means it doesn’t just run around the room bumping into furniture – which is nice if you want a clean apartment but it also means that the 360 Eye isn’t as funny as a Roomba. Won’t someone think of the comedy?
The Dyson 360 Eye has been in development for an incredible 16 years, and comes outfitted with too many features to mention in this space. But you can see it in action in the video below, and for more information and to sign up to receive updates when it’s released near you you can go to the appropriately elaborate website for the 360 Eye set up by Dyson here.
