With the turnaround rate in the Trump administration being what it is, it was only a matter of time before they begin turning towards fictional characters to take up the slack. Journalist Jimmy Fallon had a surprise scoop on this last night on The Tonight Show, airing a segment self-explanatorily titled “Dr. Evil Gets Fired from Trump’s Cabinet.”
I really hope I don’t have to explain who Dr. Evil is, but just in case: He’s the diabolical but weirdly lovable antagonist who tried to take over the world (at least) three times over the course of his long career, thwarted all three times by his arch-enemy and secret brother Austin Danger Powers. His general MO as well as his name made him a natural fit for Trump’s cabinet, even if in the end he turned out to not be quite evil enough for the job.
