Almost a week ago, robot funk queen Janelle Monáe announced a new upcoming album in a short teaser on social media. At that time, all we knew was the title of the record, without even a release date to go along with it: Dirty Computer. But today, Monáe released not one but two new videos for tracks to be on the record, as well as an April release date. The first is “Make Me Feel,” which you can check out below:
If that was a little too poppy for your musical taste, the Prince-inspired “Make Me Feel” is followed up by the heavier, more hip hop inflected “Django Jane,” with a video co-directed by Andrew Donoho, Chuck Lighting and Lacey Duke:
Between the two of those two songs, it’s hard to imagine anyone not being psyched for Dirty Computer, which is set to come out on April 27th, reportedly with a film connected to the album to follow sometime in the future as well.
