Yesterday saw the passing of legendary comedian and insult maestro Don Rickles. Don was famous for performing well into his old age, and as it turns out the folks at AARP—who apparently didn’t hold it against Don that he never retired—gave him a TV show where he talked with a variety of famous guests over dinner. It’s called Dinner with Don, and a brief sizzle reel has made its way online, hopefully in advance of some kind of distribution deal being secured.
Don Rickles finished all ten of the planned Dinner with Don episodes before his death, and the guests seen in the clip include Sarah Silverman, Amy Poehler, Zack Galifianakis, and Paul Rudd, while other guests reportedly include Billy Crystal, Marissa Tomei, Robert De Niro, and even Don’s Casino director Martin Scorsese.
See the trailer for Dinner with Don below, and hopefully some cable channel or streaming service will pick up the entire show soon.
