If you don’t know the name Kathryn Bigelow, for shame, because you are almost certainly familiar with her work: Point Break. Near Dark (starring the late Bill Paxton!). Zero Dark Thirty. The Hurt Locker. Strange Days. She’s one of the best directors of action movies working, and her recent streak of looking to topically relevant true stories for her material continues with the upcoming Detroit, based on the 1967 riot in that American city.
Detroit stars John Boyega, John Krasinski, and Kaitlyn Dever, and is almost sure to be one of the most talked about movies of the summer, provided the United States of America does not succeed in solving all of its problems with racial disparities and police brutality before the movie comes out in August. And now, an equally topical trailer for the movie is online.
For now, you can watch the trailer for Detroit below, and the movie itself comes to a theater near you on April 4th.
