Dennis Hopper died back in 2010, but evidently his record collection has lived on, intact and waiting for the right opportunity to be sold to the highest bidder. Or, as it happens, the first person to pony up the $150,000 asking price for Dennis Hopper’s record collection, now being sold by Hopper’s daughter Marin and womenswear retailer Moda Operandi.
Unfortunately, Dennis Hopper’s record collection doesn’t seem to be as adventurous as other aspects of the legend’s life. According to the listing, the collection is comprised of 110 albums from artists including The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Fleetwood Mac, Leonard Cohen, Miles Davis and more—great artists all, but no one you wouldn’t hear flipping through a typical suburban bunch of radio stations.
Still, Dennis Hopper’s record collection may have some unheralded works tucked away inside, and it also includes “handwritten notes to the actor from various artists and several unreleased records” Hopper accumulated over time, and part of the proceeds will benefit The Future Heritage Fund. You can check out the sales listing for this one-of-a-kind collection right here.
