Visitors to London‘s Poetry Library between now and August 30th have a unique opportunity at their disposal – to borrow a book from David Byrne‘s personal collection. It’s called The David Byrne Lending Library, part of this year’s Meltdown Festival curated by Byrne.
The David Byrne Lending Library is made up of 250 books on music from Byrne’s own personal library – with highlights and notes in the margins included. Patrons have to leave a credit card so they don’t just get up and walk away with the book, but other than that it works pretty much like a regular library, albeit one with a more limited catalog than usual.
If you’re not a Meltdown Festival attendee or going to be in London in the next week, you’ll have to find some other way to borrow a book from David Byrne. But you can read about The David Byrne Lending Library over at The Guardian here no matter who you are.
