One of the least lamented parts of the early 1990s is Crystal Pepsi, which no one bought, no one drank, and no one liked. But since it was around between the years 1992 and 1994, its cultural prominence has reached a point at which Pepsi has no choice but to put it back in stores.
And so, this summer Crystal Pepsi will be back, for an eight-week supermarket run that will also reportedly coincide with The Crystal Pepsi Trail, an online game that’s inspired by fellow 90s mainstay The Oregon Trail. Personally, I think the computer game holds up a lot better than the soda, but that’s just me.
If you’re reading this in Canada, you only have about a week left to wait until Crystal Pepsi returns, while US readers will have to wait until August 8th. In the meantime, you can read more about the infamous soda’s nostalgia-fueled return to glory right here.
