Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is the Bob Marley: Legend of wuxia films, the one example of the genre that everyone and their parents have seen even if they don’t care about the genre at all. Appropriately enough, it’s the one getting a follow-up on Netflix, and now Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny has gotten a trailer in advance of its release to select theaters and Netflix in February.
The trailer for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny has all the high-flying swordplay, destruction, and vocoder-heavy Creedence Clearwater Revival covers you could hope for in a video lasting 90 seconds. And I now realize I was being foolish in suggesting that actual martial arts fans might not be as interested in a sequel to Crouching Tiger, after finding out this was directed by the legendary Yuen Woo-ping, the fight architect for countless Hong Kong classics as well as The Matrix and Kill Bill.
You can watch the trailer for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny below. It hits select theaters and Netflix accounts everywhere on February 26th.
