Imagine that you had a really cool and generous friend in the comic book industry, who sends you boxes of good stuff every month that you get to read and keep in your collection. Now imagine that this friend got into some bad gambling debts and had to start charging you for the box, and now you have a rough idea of what a subscription to Comic Bento would be like.
For as little as $17.50 per month, Comic Bento will deliver at least $50 worth of “graphic novels” (I hate that term but the company uses it to distinguish between the collected trade paperbacks it offers and regular single-issue comic books). Marvel and DC are both represented, as are Valiant, Image, Dynamite, and more. There’s no way to know what you’re getting each month, except for a monthly theme that ties all the comics in the box together—this month’s is “Mighty.”
You have 25 more days to sign up for Comics Bento and get those Mighty comics (maybe some Mighty Thor in there? Mighty Mightor? Mighty Mouse? Just guesses) for this month at the service’s official site right here, where you can also get a lot more information on the service and how it works.
