The Casio G-Shock line of digital watches is already known for its rugged durability – that’s where the name “G-Shock” comes from in the first place, as the watches were developed to withstand shocks that could incapacitate lesser timepieces. But the brand has been experimenting with even more sturdily designed pieces, and the latest is the nigh indestructible Casio G-Shock G-Steel.
As its name suggests, the Casio G-Shock G-Steel is encased in solid steel, layer-guarded for additional shock insulation. In addition to its practical invincibility, the watch is also equipped with features like automatic hand correction, solar timekeeping, 48 pre-programmed time zones, and more.
Release details on the Casio G-Shock G-Steel are still in the wind, but we do know that the watch is set to come out in some form sometime next month. Pricing and other information should therefore be available soon, so stay tuned to the official Casio G-Shock site here for more on the watch as we get closer to July.
