The way of the future is the electric car, according to some. And the automakers at Cadillac apparently agree, as they’ve announced plans for the Cadillac ELR, an electric car that can switch to “extended driving” mode for hundreds of additional miles once the electric charge runs out.

Until then, the car runs on an electric charge without using any gasoline OR emitting any carbon dioxide – a pretty great deal for people who hate paying for gas or love the environment (or both). No word yet on a release date or pricing, as the Cadillac ELR is just in the concept stages for now.
