If I were a Pepsi executive, I would have heard about the new sparkling water trend a couple years ago and made the obvious connection: Hey, we’ve got giant tanks of carbonated beverage sitting around, can’t we convert some of them into sparkling water tanks? But hey, big companies move slow, so we’re only now hearing about Pepsi’s new sparkling water brand Bubly.
Bubly will come in three flavors: lime, grapefruit, strawberry, lemon, orange, apple, mango and cherry. And in case that’s not whimsical enough for you, the pull tabs come with short phrases printed on them, the main one being “oh hi.” It’s like your sparkling water is texting you, right there on the can! Here’s Pepsi VP Todd Kaplan in a statement:
“We created Bubly to provide consumers with a great-tasting, flavorful, unsweetened sparkling water in a fun, playful, and relevant manner.”
Bubly is supposed to be available in grocery stores all over the country this month, so keep an eye out for it if you’re interested.
