“Going up into space in a gosh-darn balloon” is extremely low on my list of things I want to do, but evidently there’s a market for this questionable activity, judging by the unveiling of Bloon, a pod/capsule craft for providing passengers with a “near space experience,” courtesy of Zero 2 Infinity.
Bloon will serve as yet another vehicle of space tourism in the near future, at least if all goes according to Zero 2 Infinity’s plans. It will be reusable for multiple trips, and float through the upper atmosphere on a helium ballast, with ergonomic interior design and – naturally – large windows helping to make the trip as comfortable and memorable as possible.
Who knows, maybe in a decade or two traveling near space in Bloon or a vehicle much like it will be commonplace. But for now, you can check out the unveiling video of Bloon below, and book a trip at Zero 2 Infinity’s site right here.
