It might look like a stick of deodorant for a robot, but the Blackout Buddy H2O from Eton is something much more practical for human purposes. It’s an emergency light source for power outages that only requires a bit of water to activate.
I doubt I’d be able to adequately explain the science behind the Eton Blackout Buddy H2O, but luckily I don’t really have to because it’s purportedly so easy to use. All you have to do is put the Blackout Buddy into a cup of water, and the Magnesium-oxide battery module will keep the light burning for up to 72 continuous hours (you do have to refresh the water once a day though).
For more information on the Eton Blackout Buddy H2O, just head over to the Eton online store here, where you can buy one for a penny under $10. As emergency preparedness measures go, it’s actually pretty cheap.
