There’s an argument to be made that Mad Max: Fury Road is as much automotive porn as it is action movie, but that argument is diminished somewhat by the fact that all the vehicles in the movie are caked in four or five layers of post-apocalyptic dust. Now, thanks to set photographer John Platt and his self-explanatory photo series Before the Dirt – The Cars of Mad Max: Fury Road, you can see these rigs as they were never meant to be seen.
Before the Dirt – The Cars of Mad Max: Fury Road will have you longing for some alternative future where these cars could exist without all that pesky dust and dirt that tends to accumulate following the fall of society. It will also give you a new appreciation for the impeccable and detailed design work that went into designing all these automotive nightmares.
You can see a few choice selections from Before the Dirt – The Cars of Mad Max: Fury Road below. And for the entire project, and more of Platt’s work, check it out on Behance right here.
