Gotham City’s Arkham Asylum is one of those places that you want to avoid visiting if you can. Virtual reality is thus a natural fit for the property, which tends to be crowded with psychotic, criminally insane murderers, most of whom were apprehended by Batman. And fittingly, you can now see the first 12 minutes of the upcoming VR game Batman: Arkham VR.
Unfortunately for my opening joke, those 12 minutes don’t actually take you to Arkham Asylum, instead opening on the fateful murder of Bruce Wayne’s parents (seen entirely from Bruce’s point of view, just like the rest of the game) before going to the Batcave for some pre-mission equipment preparations. Fun!
It’s not as action-packed as the entirety of Batman: Arkham VR promises to be, but it does provide viewers with a reasonable idea of what the game will be like when it (and its console the PlayStation VR) come out later this month. Check it out:
