I don’t know how or why this happened, but the children’s animated television series Arthur has become a pop culture phenomenon of late, giving birth to countless memes and even concert renditions of the theme song by Chance the Rapper. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert recently tapped into this phenomenon with a new video version of the theme, featuring both Chance, Colbert’s bandleader Jon Batiste, and the original song’s writer and performer, Ziggy Marley.
The video shows the aforementioned trio, plus Colbert himself, frolicking in an animated world while the Arthur theme is performed. Like most late night talk show bits these days, it’s clearly engineered for maximum social media shares, but you know what? It deserves it.
You can watch this new rendition of the Arthur theme song for yourself below, especially if you’re in need of a quick pick-me-up. And for more from Late Show, check out the show’s YouTube channel here.
