Mitch Rapp is the protagonist of a long-running series of novels by Vince Flynn, and now the character is making the leap from the page to the big screen in American Assassin, starring Dylan O’Brien as Rapp, plus Michael Keaton as his mentor in the art(s) of death and destruction.
Now, and somewhat unusually for a movie in the action-adventure genre, a restricted red band trailer for American Assassin has hit the internet, showing off the movie’s stock of graphic violence and language. CBS and Lionsgate, the studios behind the movie, are reportedly interested in a long-term franchise for the character, so hopefully for their sake people still like adult language and graphic violence.
