It’s April Fool’s Day, which means you’re going to be subjected to all kinds of japes and pranks from massive corporations. It’d be pointless to try to round up all of them, especially since most of them aren’t very funny, but Amazon.com‘s entry in the prank wars is probably worth checking out.
Basically, the Amazon.com homepage looks just like it did 16 years ago, back when the internet was a much different place. And there’s some extra April Fool’s Day juju at play when you look at the best-selling VHS tapes and music listed on the page as well (example: Best-selling song is “Chain of Fools” by Aretha Franklin).
It’s pretty funny, especially if you’re old enough to remember what the internet was like back in 1999. So head over to Amazon.com right here to check out their 1999 retro throwback – and you better do it soon, since I doubt it will be sticking around after April Fool’s Day, 2015 comes to an end.
