Like the Rolling Stones say, when you’re downright disgusted, and life ain’t worth a dang, get a girl with anime eyes. A girl like Alita: Battle Angel, for instance, the cyborg heroine of an upcoming collaboration between Bob Rodriguez and Jim Cameron, the second trailer for which is now online. Here’s (part of) the accompanying synopsis:
“When Alita (Rosa Salazar) awakens with no memory of who she is in a future world she does not recognize, she is taken in by Ido (Christoph Waltz), a compassionate doctor who realizes that somewhere in this abandoned cyborg shell is the heart and soul of a young woman with an extraordinary past.”
Pretty wordy! But I imagine most of the appeal of a film like Alita: Battle Angel comes not from any excess promotional verbiage but from it’s ass-kicking action and special effects, both of which you can get a taste of in the trailer below:
Alita: Battle Angel comes out in December, but in the meantime you can see its official site right here.
