In the mood for something weird? As usual when that’s the case, Alexander McQueen has you covered. This time, it’s the label’s spring/summer 2014 campaign video, directed by Steven Klein and starring supermodel Kate Moss.
The Alexander McQueen spring/summer 2014 campaign video is a creepy futuristic spin on the 1960 Michael Powell film Peeping Tom. More specifically, the video replicates that movie’s opening sequence, which depicts the stalking of a young woman through the POV of the camera-obsessed psycho following her through the streets. The Alexander McQueen version doesn’t end so violently, although the murderous undertones are pretty clear to anyone who’s ever watched a slasher movie before. And the voyeurism takes on another level when you notice in the credits that the stalker in the video is played by the director.
The video is accompanied by a few photos which you can check out in the gallery up top. I’m not sure if it will make you interested in giving Alexander McQueen any money, but it’s definitely more interesting than the usual fashion campaign.
