I could probably devote an entire day to writing up various flying car concepts, since unlike actual flying cars there’s very little risk involved in putting out some concept art and soaking in the publicity. But oh well, we all enjoy dreaming from time to time, and as flying car concepts go the recently unveiled AeroMobil 5.0 VTOL is pretty cool.
The “VTOL” in AeroMobil 5.0 VTOL stands for “Vertical Take-Off and Landing,” which is the main function of the car and allows it to take off and land without a runway — conceptually, of course. When about to take flight, wings, rotors, and a rear-mounted propeller extend from the body of the car, and voila, if you’re lucky, you’re in the air. And like the previous AeroMobil VTOL concept, this one is reportedly designed for public transit, optimized for intraurban transportation while the 4.0 is for quick trips from one city to another.
