CES 2018 is seeing a lot of exciting tech developments, but one of the demonstrations that would seem the most incredible to all of us only a few years ago has to be the 65″ Rollable Display from LG. As its name suggests, the display can be rolled and modified in size and shape to accommodate the needs of the viewer, in addition to just rolling up like a poster and being taken on the go.
The 65″ Rollable Display doesn’t have a sexy brand name yet, and the version seen at CES is something of a literally rough-around-the-edges prototype. But its functionality is clear, and the possibilities of such technology have probably only begun to be explored. Check it out in action below, and just imagine what you would do with a TV that rolls up like a poster or newspaper:
As you can see, the LG 65″ Rollable Display can also change aspect ratios at the touch of a button, which means no more black bars for the cinematically impaired out there. It’s just a prototype for now, but stay tuned to the LG site here for more details in the future.
