The title of “most expensive home in the world” will have a new owner in the near future, if film executive Nile Niami gets his wish. He’s currently constructing a $500 million mansion in Bel-Air, California that, if sold at that desired asking price, will become the most expensive home ever sold (and could still break the record even if it falls a bit short of that mark).
For its $500 million asking price, Niami’s dream house will have everything from an “IMAX-style theater” to a “Jellyfish Room” with aquarium tanks and a light show in the ceiling. The estate will include a 74,000 square foot main house, plus several other smaller living spaces such as three guest houses and staff quarters. It’s not all an exercise in decadence, though, since it will aim to be as environmentally friendly as possible with artificial grass – no watering required.
Nile Niami’s (hopefully) $500 million mansion isn’t estimated to be completed until early 2017 or so, so you do have some time to get that cash together or improve your credit. In the meantime, you can read more about the project here, and check out some renderings of what the mansion will look like in the gallery below.
