Last week we told you about somebody’s Bugatti Veyron that got defaced with graffiti (it turned out to be a hoax, but still). Now, artist Fabian Oefner and the people at Ferrari have done that story one (or two, three, or four) better with a project designed to showcase the 2015 Ferrari California T by covering it in different colors of glowing paint.
The project wasn’t just for fun if you ask Oefner, who had some lofty concepts in mind when he came up with the idea. Here he is explaining the genesis of the project:
“The acceleration of the California T into the wind convinced me to reveal the sensation of speed through form, to see the unseen and convert that emotion into a physical art piece.”
Apparently someone at Ferrari liked the idea too, since they allowed Fabian Oefner into the Maranello, Italy Ferrari headquarters and gave him the keys to the castle and unfettered access to a 2015 Ferrari California T. The ensuing video is visually engaging, but it also showcases the aerodynamic form of the 2015 Ferrari California T in an exciting, dynamic fashion.
You can watch the video featuring the 2015 Ferrari California T being doused in glow-in-the-dark paint by Fabian Oefner below. And for more from Ferrari and the “Art of Form,” head over to the company’s website here.
