The legendary 1997 McLaren F1 GTR ‘Longtail’ has a special aura around it as one of the famous McLaren ‘Longtail’ Formula One race cars ever. Now, some lucky individual is calling it his own after purchasing it at Bonham’s auction in Monterey, California.

The people at Bonham’s haven’t disclosed how much was paid for the Longtail, but they did release the figure for the entire auction: $13 million! And given the car’s previous asking price of $4 million, it’s a safe bet that it was a big part of that figure.
